JST Quilts in the Pacific NW

I'm afraid I'm not too good at this blogging thing. I ignore it, don't really know how to use it properly. But every now and then I get the urge to post something that I've been doing.

Civil War Era Projects

A few months ago George (my husband) mentioned that he'd rather like a quilt in a Mark Twain theme. I searched the internet and found some wonderful fabric with Mark Twain images and a fabric with Huck and Tom images. I've since been collecting wonderful reproduction fabrics from the 1900's era.

I downloaded a free pattern called River Stories by Susan McDermott. Then, using EQ7, I modified it and scanned in chosen fabrics to play around with a colo scheme.

The two basic blocks for the quilt. I've fussy cut the centers from the fabrics so most centers in the quilt is different. Below is the completed quilt.
